Treble Crochet

tr
Intermediate

Treble crochet (also called triple crochet) is a tall stitch that creates an open, airy fabric. It works up very quickly and is often used in lace patterns, shawls, and decorative edgings where you want a light, flowing drape.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1

Yarn over twice before inserting your hook into the next stitch.

  2. 2

Insert the hook into the stitch.

  3. 3

Yarn over and pull up a loop โ€” you now have four loops on your hook.

  4. 4

Yarn over and pull through the first two loops โ€” three loops remain.

  5. 5

Yarn over and pull through the next two loops โ€” two loops remain.

  6. 6

Yarn over and pull through the last two loops โ€” one treble crochet is complete.

  7. 7

At the end of the row, chain 4 (counts as the first treble crochet) and turn your work.
