Bobble Stitch

bo
Intermediate

The bobble stitch creates a raised, three-dimensional bump on the fabric surface. It is made by working several incomplete double crochets into the same stitch and then joining them at the top. Popular for textured blankets, pillow covers, and decorative accessories.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. 1

Yarn over, insert your hook into the specified stitch.

  2. 2

Yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through two loops — one incomplete double crochet (two loops remain on hook).

  3. 3

Repeat step 2 four more times in the same stitch — you should have six loops on your hook.

  4. 4

Yarn over and pull through all six loops at once.

  5. 5

Chain 1 to lock the bobble in place (some patterns skip this step).

  6. 6

Continue with the next stitch in the pattern. Bobbles usually have a single crochet or chain between them.
